Thai Food, at Siam Paragon Food Gourmet Market

Many of Thailand’s best-known dishes, including green and red curries, tom yum kung, are originated in central Thailand – Bangkok. This also where many of the signature Thai seasonings – garlic, ginger, black pepper and chilli – were first used. Indeed, you can find a lot of dishes came along with the sauces, which have enhanced the flavour, and complemented the meal.

BBQ chicken thigh with sticky rice and salad.

The BBQ chicken thigh is so tender and rich of flavour as it has been marinated overnight, you can even taste the sweetness from the bone. And surprisingly, it tastes even better when the meat is dipped with the sauce. Let me elaborate, this simple spicy sauce is known as nam pla prik, which you can found on the table throughout Thailand. It adds both spiciness and saltiness to dishes. It is called fish sauce, which is a fermented sauce made from small fish. It’s an unique fragrant brew, and accompanying almost all Thai food, especially rice. This is an unforgettable dishes, even it’s simple.

Thai rice noodles with red curry

Another simple dish, Thai rice noodle with red curry. You just need to mix the noodles with the red curry and fresh vegetable. A Simple but nice dish, but what puzzle me is that the egg white seems like transparent, how they do it?

Tom Yum Kung

Tom Yum is a popular hot and sour soup in Thailand. Soup made with shrimp is called Tom Yum Kung. There are other versions, like Tom Yum Gai (with chicken), Tom Yum Pla (with fish), and Tom Yum Hed (with mushroom). This soup with an aroma created by kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass, is a must try dish.

I had my meal at Siam Paragon Food Gourmet Market.

Siam Paragon (at Siam main BTS station) is open and running since the beginning of December 2005.

  5. I'm not too sure if it's a good deal...
things are twice as expensive in Paragon
    than in the original stores..

Last week we went to buy some Thai dessert,
and was told that the mark up are twice
    as high ....

but I have to admit that food at Paragon
    are good.
