Nonya food @ Nonya Delicatessen, Bukit Timah

Nonya Delicatessen, a famous nonya food stall at Bukit Timah Plaza. Do you try it before? This is a stall, I would like to recommend to you, because the food is so authentic, and the price is reasonable. Here, you can feel warm, and passion of food. Am I exaggerate my feeling?

Early noon, the mother starts peeling the cooked prawn, preparing the stock for the laksa, and the son arranges the tables and chairs, and decorate it with the fresh flower. Some of the food has been delivered by the siblings. And the air is full of sweetness, coconut, hot, spicy, and spice...

Before they start their business at 11.30am, people start waiting (include me). Trust me, it’s tough to control saliva while your stomach is drumming.

Must try nasi Lemak and nonya laksa, because you can feel the owner’s sincere from these dishes. The rice is so delicious, you can feel every single one is ‘hug’ by the coconut milk, and the taste is double when it mixed with ‘ikan bilis’. The nasi lemak is totally complemented by the Chicken wings and otah.
Can you imagine, I always empty my laksa bowl? I am willing to take the high risk for it, let’s cheer for laksa!!
Don’t forget complemented your meal with nonya kuih or desert.
Food / Beverage: 9

Nothing to complain about here. The nasi Lemak with otah, chicken wings, eggs, and ikan bilis sell at $5.50, it’s more than worth! But the nonya kuih is $2.00 onwards, quite expensive... It’s easy to spend more than $8 per person.
Value: 7.5

Do mentally prepare to share table with the others as the seat is quite limited, and always too crowded.
Ambience: 7

The service will melt your heart, as they serve you like you are their family member, because majority of the customers are regular customers. They even clear the table in a few minute to ensure the seat is available again.
Service: 8.5
